Packing is well underway in our household. But we made time to get outside and enjoy the glorious weather this weekend! And what a weekend!
Saturday night we headed out to the Twilight movie theatre in Aldergrove. Both of us had intended to visit it at one point or another in the past 15 years (when it resided close to Cloverdale and when it moved to its present location), but never had. I’d never been to a drive-in before so it was all new to me.
We got there just before the big rush – time to select a good spot in center screen. (The first row turned out to be a tad to close.) We realized when we pulled in that our windshield was a tad dusty, so we cleaned that off. It turns out, windshield cleaning is quite common at the drive-in (others were doing the same and the lady next to us offered us her cleaner). Then, we had to figure out how to make sure the daytime running lights would turn off with the radio on. (Since this was my car, I should have known, but didn’t.)
The movie, Land of the Lost, was pretty stupid, but the ambience more than made up for it. The Twilight definitely has a vintage feel to it. Before the movie, they play 50s & 60s music and in-between movies they play an old concession reel. It’s a great feeling to cuddle up the car, watch the movie, people around you & the night sky. Definitely a great date night!
With the weather so sunny, this was a great weekend to be outside. We walked around Sendall Gardens, a picturesque garden in the heart of Langley City, and explored a bit of Williams Park, and old favorite haunt up in Langley Township.
